Bridal Shower Brunch - Menu, Decorations, Games, EVERYTHING you need to know!

Hello!!!

I know it has been a loooong time since I last posted, but my life has been so crazy since I started my new job; which happened right after my sister's bridal shower was complete! This is going to be a long post because there is soooo much stuff.

First thing I am going to talk about is the decor/decorations. I am extremely lucky, because my step mom is an artist and is able to recreate anything that I show her. So I went on good old Pinterest to find some ideas on signs that she could make for me. Below are the signs and posters she made for me.

Decorations:

For the decorations like the tissue paper flowers in the picture above, I went to Dollar Tree and got a ton of stuff for super cheap there. Below is a list of items I got from Dollar Tree:

Table covers
Tissue paper flower garland
Giant hanging tissue flowers
Glass cups
Glass plates
Veggie Tray
Glass bowls
Tongs
Brown paper bags

I'm sure there's a lot more that I got, I just can't think of it now. Anyway, always start at Dollar Tree you will save so much money!

For the plates and eating utensils, we ordered stuff online from Party City and Party Source. I went with a gold and pink theme. Pictures of everything will be below with the food!

Food:
Now if you are a maid of honor, you know that a bride can be very picky or particular about a lot of things. Well for my sister she is very picky about food, so I finalized the menu with her and added a couple items myself. Below is a list of all the food items and there will be pictures to follow!

Menu:
Hashbrown Casserole
Croissant Egg and Cheese Sliders
Pasta Salad
Ham and Cheese Sliders on Mini Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
Vegetable Platter
Cherry Turnovers
Yogurt Parfait Bar with Fruit and Granola
Red Velvet Cupcakes
Funfetti Cupcakes
Mimosa Bar

Hashbrown Casserole and Veggie Tray

Buffet Spread

Mimosa Bar

 Yogurt Parfait Bar

Party Favors:

When it came to party favors, I kind of went all out. I made three different things that each person got to pick up and put in their own take home bag.

Party Favor Items:

To-Go Cupcakes with Spoon

Homemade White Chocolate & Sixlet Pretzels

Passion Tea Lemonade kits

Here is what the party favor station looked like!

Games:
When it came to games I found a lot of my ideas on Pinterest. I had several paper and pencil games which were fun because it involved everyone getting to know the bride a little more! Here are the following games I had:

Guess How Many Sixlets
Pearl Bobby Pin Name Game (Said grooms name, take the pin, whoever had the most wins!)

Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Game

Paper Games:
Purse Scavenger Hunt Game
How Well Do You Know The Bride
Wedding Word Scramble

Game Prizes:
I have a blog post completely dedicated to this :) Go check it out!

Location:
I also got really lucky with where we had the bridal shower. My sister works for an apartment/leasing company. So I was able to use one of their model apartments to host the shower, which was for free. All I had to do was put everything back and clean it!

Invitations:
Again I found a template for free on Pinterest for the invitations. I printed them off in color at my dad's work and then got pink envelopes to match the invites I used. There are tons of cute templates out there that are free! You can even use an evite website to save even more money! I ended having to use it also because we changed the day of the shower.

That is everything I can think of for now, but if anything pops up that I can remember, I'll make sure to add it in!

Hopefully this all helps out, if you are planning a shower soon!

Bridal Shower Party Favor - Starbucks Passion Tea Lemonade Kits

Hello :)

So the countdown is on for my sister's bridal shower, t-minus 5 days!!!
I have been busy getting everything ready to go, so when the actual day of the shower comes I won't be so stressed out.

Anyway I wanted to show you one of the party favors everyone will be getting at the shower. I came up with this idea all on my own and I can't believe how perfect it turned out!

I don't know about you, but I am in love with Starbucks Passion Tea Lemonade. When I found out I could make it on my own for soooo much cheaper I was even more excited.

One day when I was shopping at Target and I noticed they had the individual Tazo Passion Tea bags. So I decided to get them and see what I could do with them.

Below is a list of the materials you will need for this project and where to get them at.

Materials You'll Need:
  • Tazo Passion Tea Bags (Target always has them on sale for $3.00)
  • Crystal Light Lemonade Packets ($2.00 at Kroger)
  • Cute Straws (Got mine at Target for $.50 the day after Easter)
  • Pretzel Rod Bags (Party City for $2.00)
  • Instructions on how to make the tea (I will try and insert the little tags I made for them here.)

In order to assemble these this is the assembly line I made up on my own because it seemed to be the easiest:

  1. Unwrap tea bags.
  2. Put tea bag and Crystal Light packet in at the same time, with the Crystal Light packet ontop of the tea bag.
  3. Put 6 straws in behind the tea bag and Crystal Light Packet.
  4. Put the little slip of instructions on the back side.
  5. Do all the bags like this, then twist tie all of them shut with the twists provided from the Pretzel Rod Bags.

And you will end up with the cutest party favors ever!!! I can't believe how cheap and easy it was to make these and I LOVE how they turned out.

I hope you all enjoy and I will continue to document everything I do for my sister's Bridal Shower.

Until next time,

Gap Clearance Store and Old Navy Clothing Haul!!!

Hello!!!
I'm so sorry it's been a while since I last posted. I just recently moved and once I was done moving I was traveling back and forth and was never home long enough to get anything done. However while I was back and forth I was able to get a lot of bargain shopping done!

The two places I found really good deals at were the Gap Clearance Store (what in the world is that place??) and Old Navy.

Gap Clearance Store:
Where I used to live at in Northern Kentucky there is the Gap Clearance Store. It's like two exits away from the Cincinnati Airport and this place is AMAZING!! I literally went almost every week because there are so many good deals. Basically what it is, is a store that sells all the returned items, damaged items, or overflow of clothes, shoes, bags, any and everything you can think of really. They sell Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Athleta, and other designers to name a few. One thing that's awesome about this place is that the prices stay the same. They will have random deals on specific sizes or articles of clothing. Once when I went all the plus size tops were $2 and they had that deal for several weeks!
Anyway the price of your clothes depends on what it is and what brand it is. I almost always get everything Old Navy which is the cheapest priced brand. The pants are all the same price, the jeans are all the same price, the tanks are all the same price, and so on. Almost everything I get is under $10 for each article of clothing. Whenever I was in town I made sure to go, especially during the week and during the day. It is way less crowded and there is way more of a selection. If you go on the weekends it is very hit or miss because a lot of people go then.

Any who! I have try-on pictures of almost everything I bought and I tried to find the prices of the items from the clearance store, but I couldn't find all of them. All I know is I'm paying WAY less than what I would in store. For my Old Navy clothes I bought them all online and got them during a sale they were having.

I hope you all enjoy!
